HELP!! NEED ROOT ZTE 730

Postby Tool » Wed Aug 27, 2014 1:53 pm

Hi guys, been a minute since I've been on the forum. I need some help. I need a root for my phone. It's the MetroPCS ZTE Concord II Z730. The guys at both XDA and Android Forums either haven't been able to crack it yet or haven't put the right guy on it, but It'd be super awesome if somebody with knowledge in this area could look into it?

It feels like I'm suffocating without root access. :?

Thanks guys

You can call your service provider and ask them for the unlock code.

Root access and carrier unlock are 2 totally different things. I'm looking to root it, not carrier unlock.

I'm gonna check that out. That is a post for tablets though. it might not matter. I have been on androidforums, XDA and SDX for a while now and they haven't found anything. The reason I decided to post here is that Android is Linux and I know there are some brilliant guys here. Just a shot in the dark hoping to find someone with a bit of time to look into it is all. :D

It is probably a bootloader lock since Metro usually reflashes phones.

Here, this is what I mean.

I don't advise on this really. Too many things can go wrong, and fixing is generally a very hands on experience. It is hard to explain something like.."if this goes wrong, remove your battery as quickly as possible!!, etc, etc.

I am not talking about carrier unlock.

DRM has been nuts in the U.S. for the past couple years.

There are specific distros for this, too. I used Santoku Linux for a little bit, but the tools are on my Blackbuntu as well.

LOL. I actually thought you of all people would've known, hence the reason I posted here. ;) I had to read your response twice. So, lemme get this straight. You can also get an unlock code from your carrier to unlock the bootloader? I've only known that code from the carrier was to carrier unlock.

Depends, really. The sad sad truth is often times, when you talk to people whose job is selling electronics you find they know nothing of electronics. If you are contracted, it will void contract, but if you have no contract then it should not apply. The problem is, often times they try to upsell fetures that you should already have.

They are big here on selling you the same thing twice with a service charge for your payment choice convenience.

In the end, these services are still povided by underpaid and under appreciated people. So there is always a way.
