Installation crashes [SOLVED]

Installation crashes [SOLVED]

Postby ronaldbrijo » Wed Jul 04, 2012 1:16 am

Hi,

I have been able to install 3.2 once on my pc. When I try to install it to a second PC, identical spec to mine listed i get an error about halfway through. An input output error continuing to say something along the lines about a faulty dvd disk or drive.

So I thought fine write to a new disc, but same error.
Downloaded a new iso - burn to disk same error.
I bought the Linux mag with Ultimate 3.2 on cover disk... Same error.
Swopped dvd drive, same error

Next i am trying to install it from a usb flash drive..

What else can i look at doing to get the installation to work?

Thank you

LOL! Hey, upgrading is good.. <BREW> I had a slight solution, slow down the writing to hard drive, by feeding it through another medium.. USB >>>--> drive. Attaching the drive via a USB dongle (either SATA or ATA) and writing to the drive that way, before connecting it to the main interface inside. So-far, it's worked with 3.2, 3.3, SATA or ATA, on a P4/3.2Ghz, A 3Ghz Celeron, or a 3Ghz i3.. Odd thing is, Once I've installed it through the USB dongle, it would work direct interface on a 2nd try. Go figure? So-far, 2 P4 servers running 3.3 x86, and a laptop running 3.2 x64. I wasn't even aware 3.4 was out!?!?!?! Shows how far behind the times I am.
