Inkscape, svg's colorizer

Inkscape, svg's colorizer

Postby BBOSAK2143 » Mon Oct 14, 2013 8:11 am

SVG's when we do a search on the internet all most places will make reference to is dimensions and the definition of it as scalable vector graphics. Some of us get all baffled and wind up blowing off the idea of coloring these little pics that we have to see on our computer themes daily. Most theme creators or as I am have now come up with a new term as "Theme Adjusters" never bother with these little pieces or may be scared too.To be honest, I am also! Still, have to learn somewhere, right? Now remember I am not a pro at any of this, in fact yesterday I finally realized I had Inkscape! Inkscape is a great little tool that can colorize these little svg files. I am not talking about scrollbars, I am talking about buttons and related. Most of these buttons can be referred to as "radio buttons" least I will give an example of that type. These buttons are relatively impossible to colorize by words due to their small size. Remember, I am just learning this program, so please do not ask me program related questions. In fact, I am also hoping those with great experience and knowledge on this program will add to this post. It will be in the great interest of seeing themes become more appealing. I will once again re-iterate the fact, the theme is the first thing a user sees, after boot. If it is appealing to new users, they become more excited to use the system, as yours truly did! Now the pictures below are going to show how the button looked in the Inkscape program before, after and how it appears on the system. I will not show the before picture on the system, is just too ugly to me! Also, there might be some that think my version is too ugly, remember is only an example. I am just trying to show you can change these pieces and Inkscape is a great program to do so! Is also displayed in current theme Black Beauty III which is still work in progress. The last picture shows how small the button is on the system. Pictured under the selected button is unselected which, I did not post pictures for. All this is done to help those searching for information on colorizing svg's and the program to do it with called, Inkscape

On a funny note, I basically did this post just so it could link up on a search. To my amazement that has not happened! I suppose someone wants to keep coloring SVG's a big secret!

Off-Topic :
Technically, if that was the intent, it would be called trolling. Why would you want to do something like this? The internet runs automated. Without understanding any of the technologies and making claims and then complaining is not constructive or helpful to anyone. You are practically hijacking a plethora of useful information. A simple google search for svg editor would yield something like this-- https://www.google.co.in/search?q=post& ... 3Aofficial

Its not about not offending others, its practically a waste of time.

Pam never had no bad intentions on all this! See, I forgot I had the program. Now when I did a search for colorizing svg's I came up with mumbo jumbo zippity do da. Now, for a user that would like to do something as I left pictures of they would be confused as what to do, right??? Remember, I myself forgot I had it! So, I figured a little display of what it all does and the two words linked might just help someone that may have forgotten, or that wants to know. A little que into search engine might just give them this quick example. I also was stressing the fact and hoping for more input. I am not experienced at the program, whatsoever. Now seeing as many things related to Ultimate have been uniquely and beautifully colored, I supposed someone could let loose and add to what I put down. Remember, am a total amateur at this. I absolutely loved what I was able to do with those buttons and know with a little more know how can do more! I really do love all the things related to art and theme creation! There's worse I could do in life am sure!!!! Some have booze, drugs and other bad things, me I love learning and art! Do not think is terrible, least I hope is not? Blackwolf, yes will do that on Oz next time and remember I never meant any bad intentions at all. I figured this is the theme category and art work. I am so interested in all this, I simply want to learn as much as I can, since I find it so enjoyable and relaxing!!!!!

No problems, Sir.
For less system resource consumption svg images are better than png. Gimp can handle png well. But that is almost a thing of the past when people had 512 mb ram and 1gig chips. Its always best to use svg for internal icons.
Here are some vid tutorials for learning inkscape.

NOTE: The worthwhile tutorials can be downloaded in any browser. Since i use firefox here is the link for the addon to download the video so that you can view if offline, pause it, or play it at a later time. Since you are on expensive connection it would make sense to view it at a later time, your choice.

Still have all the other links saved and some things to read up on. Black Beauty III will be some time, but least should be real nice when done due to all your help!!!! Greatly appreciated can not thank you enough pam!!!! Xan was curious about a few things had done so have a little post to make with those. All is as always intended to save the next person time!
