Conky Manager: A GUI For Managing Conky(s!)

Conky Manager: A GUI For Managing Conky(s!)

I stole this from Blackwolf on the Oz forums.

At first, I thought the application was somewhat boring and lame, and I really did not care for what came with it..and then I thought..wait..I can use this to display multiple conkies..that's pretty cool, even if I don't want to display the conkies that came with it so first...

A link to Oz..perrrty pictures..
https://www.ultimateeditionoz.com/forum ... =85&t=5323

and to sum up..

Open a Terminal

Code: Select all
sudo apt-add-repository -y ppa:teejee2008/ppa

Code: Select all
sudo apt-get update

Code: Select all
sudo apt-get install conky-manager

Ok, now we have the Conky Manager

You can leave your Ultimate Edition conky alone, and honestly my interaction with it can be summed up to me taking the .conkyrc and having my dirty way with it using Geany, the conky manager itself should not conflict so much, you can turn one on and then the other, but

Terminal
Code: Select all
killall conky

will get rid of all of it.

Now with the Conky Manager we can fill it up with whatever we want, so you have the conkies that the program came with, they are stored under home/user/conky-manager/themes, to add more simply take the conky you wish to add and create a Folder for it and place it in home/user/conky-manager/themes. Now place your conky cript in this folder but do not make it hidden, or do not place a period in front of the name so .conkyrc will become conkyrc, but you may want to name it something else.

For a full on guide on how to do this consult..

Anywho, now you can basically have as many custom conkies running as you wish on the screen...
