New website design

Postby picpak » Mon Jul 28, 2008 3:48 pm

Guys, let's be honest, this site's design isn't...well, it isn't the best that it could be. So I decided to take the time to make a new layout:

h**p://ubuntu.freehostia.com/u_e/

Please let me know what you think! :)

Why do the filters change the letters U-U-E to "Ultimate Edition"? It breaks my link...

Can you just spell it out? The U-U-E is changed to Ultimate Edition because people don't know when to stop calling Ultimate Edition Ubuntu Ultimate Edition ... This distro and Ubuntu have nothing to do with each other other than its base. We are not affiliated with Connical Ltd. what so ever and never have been. That is the reason for the 'filter' on U-U-E.

I checked out the site....

Like the download buttons, like the graphic, but otherwise it's pretty plain-jane. Color would be nice....

Creditable job overall, tho.

Edited your link to make it easier for people to actually find your site.

Interested parties will need to cut and paste the link, substituting "tt" for " ** " and remove the spaces from "u u e".

It's Ultimate Edition... Not Ubuntu_Ultimate Edition.

Thanks, but now it feels like we're hiding something illegal :P . I updated the link, anyone who goes to the old link will simply be redirected.

Sorry for all the trouble, guys. I had no idea that a name could be such a touchy subject.

Samo here,
picpak, I think this will explain the touchy subject about U-UE or Ultimate Edition

viewtopic.php?f=11&t=185&start=0#p1102

But that is far behind us now..we are a better Distro and a Forum equaled by none... :)

No, you busted your own link again. It's been re-edited however.

Interested parties will STILL need to cut and paste the plain-text address, substitute the "**" with "tt" and remove the underbar from "u_e" in their address bar to get the link to work correctly.
I'm sorry, I can't hear you over the sound of how awesome I am...

If it's not broken, you haven't tweaked it enough.

Wow, so this was 2 versions ago? Admittedly, I don't really follow Ultimate Edition and prefer to stick with Ubuntu. I just wanted to help you guys out.

And sorry about breaking the link *again*...I guess the lesson here is don't abbreviate
