Quick version question?

Postby TananaBanana » Mon May 20, 2013 9:32 pm

Having trouble following the versions and release/update dates. 3.5 vs. 3.4 lite, quick differences? And I am running an AMD APU w/embedded Radeon if one has serious issues vs. the other.

3.4 lite is Gnome 2(mate) and is somewhat stripped down apps-wise 3.5 has lots of different GUIs and is loaded with apps

So would it be fair to say that here the newest release might not be as big a deal as with some, and just picking the one that fits my eye is the thing here?

right, 3.4, 3.4 lite, and 3.5 are all built on Ubuntu 12.04. The pattern for Ultimate Edition is even numbers is Gnome odd numbers is Gnome KDE, and more.
"lite" is a reduced application list. So version upgrades come on even numbers.

OK mentioning this become it comes to mind, when doing upgrades after install DO NOT do the offered version upgrade, i.e., if your install Ultimate Edition suggests you upgrade to Ubuntu 13.10, DON'T DO IT. This will break Ultimate Edition.
