Access daap shares in Ultimate Player

Postby TheNetworkWizard » Fri Oct 12, 2012 5:45 pm

Just wondering if it is possible to access my private network daap shares through Ultimate Player? I have just installed Ultimate Edition 3.4 and am really enjoying it... just want to be able to access the daap shares, preferably with Ultimate Player.

I am familiar with Rhythmbox and its abilities to access daap shares, so, I guess I should elaborate a bit on the shares... I have a server on the local network running VortexBox using daap to share the music across the lan. On my other PC's I access the daap via Rhythmbox, but on Ultimate I would like to utilize UltimatePlayer instead of Rhythmbox. Can this be done? I do not see any plugins for UltimatePlayer to allow connection to the daap shares, or any other way to "point" it to a daap server.

No, not at all sorry... just trying to get things set up the way I want them and after looking at these links I am beging to see that there may just be no way to use UltimatePlayer for what I want. There seems to be absolutely no way to configure it to access the daap shares, I understand that under the skin it is Clementine so have been working off that. The developers of Clementine have not designed any support to access daap shares, so I guess my endeavors are all for noght. Its too bad I rather like the interface. Guess I will have to stick with the tried and true Rhythmbox after all. Thanks.
