I thought I would investigate and found what our admin have said to be true a plague has swarmed the forum well I will say there are no longer 70 bots sweeping for a place to drop a post about viagra or to sell you a goose lined jacket. I have at the root level stopped the scanning or thus their fun. I will have to flick on registration when I am here and flick it off when I am not until I get it under control. I would much rather be writing software or distros. I absolutely hate the pain that this fourm has gave me.

I enjoy helping people here, but it has distracted me so many times I honestly hate it. It is funny as well as ironic how perhaps one individual in his quest to sell you viagra ruins it for so many. One bad apple. I am actively as I am here capturing IP's, email addresses, etc. You do know this class of person pays money to be able to utilize high traffic websites in their quest to sell you the next best thing.

I would love to turn him into the dogs when I find who he / she is, but I do not promote malicious activity. So much good I could be doing if I did not have to deal with the bad. Being bad sure feels good, I promise you and I know firsthand doing good feels better. I just wish everyone knew what good felt like.

Those of you that are legit users and would like to register, I apologize for the inconvenience. I guess when it rains it pours.

Please bare with me,

TheeMahn

I respectfully submit that pummelling a spammer's system into a worthless hunk of silicon is not malicious activity.

On a milder note, would such a person's ISP terminate their service if they were turned in for their activities? Or do such people pick ISPs that just do not care?

Pass the information to the proper authorities.
And post a Big warning that all spammers will be reported to authorities and charged to the full extent of the law.
Nail just 1 hard and it will get around to the scum that it will Not be tolerated here and we have the resources to find them.

I think the last one who was caught was heavily fined and jailed.

Actually, these who wants to sell viagra must be fools, for who'd want to buy it here? By the way, it doesn't matter, if you send them malicious something, so their servers would stop/burn or whatever, so that they cannot recover for few months!

Your Ultimate 3.0 is pretty impressive. I hope I don't have to download the next, but keep on updating it daily. But, still I'd download the next one too, for I am curious, what you'd come up with.

Have a good day! :D

This is very unfortunate, this happened to me on my forum also, and I got sick of it and said forget it I can't be paying for a site that is just going to get spammed. I was getting the same attacks also, and even had to take the same procedures that you are doing now. It is really pathetic that these spammers are making you have to close registration down at certain times, very unreal. I hope these spammers realize that you have better things to be doing, even if they don't we all know that you have way better things to be doing.

Take care,
JF382.

Use the bad word filter for posts it will stop most links if they cant post a link they wont use it

Try to use common words they would use in the links such as viagra and such

If you can here set it so they have to answer a question to register most spammers dont use linux

Both these will cut back spammers by 80%

Thanks for understanding ladies & gentlemen. I think I have smashed the recent spam issues using a modified GD 3D Captcha, time will tell. I apologize if I have accidentally banned a legit user. The admin will still have to go through and prune the current spammers.

On a lighter note I'm stoked, I went to Goliath's to pick up 8GB of GSkill RipJaws 2100 DDR3 Saturday to build a new main rig I have at the house. Using my sisters laptop right now @ my new GF's house. I am building a AMD 3.2 Ghz 6 Core with 12 GB of DDR3. ASUS main board with SLI / Crossfire capabilities a upgrade if you will. SledgeHammer has fulfilled its job over its time. Time to build O/S's with the quickness. A SATA 3 SSD replacement is also in order for the future, maybe dual raided.

Goliaths' rig still has it smashed, perhaps a bulldozer may change that. Watch out Goliath I am coming to get you ;)

Love u brother,

TheeMahn
