Go to System Administration Login Window Security
Check Enable Automatic Login your name should be there
enter that.
You can also disable your boot splash and splash screen.

Download to your desktop.
Depending on your internet connection speed(it will take a long time with dial-up)

There is a tweaking guide on this website. Be carefull, however. Follow the instructions to the letter. Usually boot time issues are resolved with adding more ram(memory). Go to System Administration Users and Groups.
Select root properties set password by hand.
Choose a root password.
That should resolve this issue.
